What You'll Do:

The IT Business Analyst – Financial Aid (FA) serves as a key partner in identifying business needs and delivering technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve the user experience, and support the continued growth and success of the Financial Aid Department at Arizona College of Nursing (“College”).

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of FA operations, business processes data requirements and supporting technology systems to identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between FA stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, and technical teams by consulting with users to gather, analyze, document and validate business requirements.
  • Evaluate current processes and workflows, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend technology solutions or process enhancements that support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Assess the feasibility of systems enhancements and new technology initiatives, defining functional requirements and ensuring solutions meet user, student, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner closely with FA database administrators, software developers and IT teams to translate business requirements into system specifications, workflows and scalable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the College, including senior leadership, to review proposed solutions, build consensus, and ensure successful adoption of system changes and enhancements.
  • Conduct technical and functional testing to ensure programming has been done in accordance with specifications.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and other resources that support system utilization and adoption.
  • Deliver technical guidance in training, mentoring, and ongoing support to colleagues, promoting effective use of systems and technology tools.
  • Monitor the performance and effectiveness of existing systems, recommending and implementing improvements that optimize functionality and user experience.

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or equivalent skills and experience required.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a business or applications analyst or comparable experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with SQL.
  • Demonstrated advocacy for technology and helping to identify technical opportunities that will enhance the end-user experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and commitments in a productive manner.

 

Nice to Have:

  • 4+ years of related software development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Scrum/Agile.
