What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Specialist works as part of the Regulatory Affairs team to assist and support the campuses in maintaining compliance with state higher education board regulatory standards.  

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain a calendar of state reporting requirements inclusive of all assigned campuses, as well as orderly and current records of all state regulatory documents and correspondence.
  • Partner with compliance teams to conduct regular audits of all assigned campuses in the College.
  • Promote a positive culture of support and compliance to all constituents of the College.
  • Assist with tracking and submission of applicable state regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyze state regulatory agencies policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership on timely and accurate reporting to state higher education regulatory bodies.
  • Support coordination, tracking, and development of licensing and compliance projects.
  • Leverage the student information system and other internal systems to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Conduct research on state higher education board regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with other areas assigned such as IPEDS reporting, catalog publication and updates, Annual Security report, and review of marketing materials. 

 

Other duties as assigned, which may include up to 10% travel 

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent skills and education is required preferably in a related business discipline such as finance, criminal justice, legal, etc.
  • Ability to independently research data and complete requirements.
  • Possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-starter demonstrating thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • High sensitivity to the confidential nature of the work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines. 

 

Preferred:

  • Regulatory or accreditation experience, preferably in a higher education, regulatory or licensing board setting  
  • Previous experience working for a college or university
