Part Time opportunity - Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:15am - 12:15pm.

What You'll Do:

The Lab Assistant supports student academic success by preparing, assisting, and resetting lab sessions.

 

  • Works in conjunction with the Program Director and instructor to coordinate instructional lab sessions.
  • Assists students with hands-on lab sessions.
  • Assists instructors with instructional components of lab sessions.
  • Educates students on proper hazardous waste disposal and ensures storage and disposal align with OSHA and campus safety protocols.
  • Enforces lab safety codes in all lab areas to assure student and colleague safety.
  • Communicates professionally with the Program Director regarding laboratory maintenance and supply inventory for restocking and ordering.
  • Efficiently sets up and breaks down lab sessions.
  • Performs assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Must have:

  • Three years’ practical experience in the content area or program field.
  • Current and in good standing license from the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current licensed pharmacist or certified pharmacy technician by a nationally recognized and accredited credentialing agency.
  • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate levels of authority as well as creating an atmosphere of support and confidence for students.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, follow oral and written instructions; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment.

Nice to have:

  • Graduated from a program in the content area or program field at an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Prior post-secondary instructor experience.
