What You'll Do:

The Assessment Specialist, reporting to the Assessment Manager, plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth coordination, efficient tracking, and effective implementation of assessments within our institution. As a key participant in the assessment and evaluation processes, the specialist not only contributes to the enhancement of our educational programs but also collaborates with educational technologies to promote optimal usage practices.

 

Essential responsibilities:

  • Communicate assessment timelines and deadline dates for development, implementation, and evaluation of assessment data.
  • Oversee and track exam development ensuring alignment with standards and supporting faculty.
  • Collaborate with the academic affairs and campus teams to make edits and adjustments to exams in the testing system.
  • Provide guidance to faculty and campus leaders on assessment-related activities.
  • Extract and analyze results data from the Learning Management System (LMS) and testing system, providing valuable insights for continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the empowerment of our faculty through the facilitation of educational training opportunities, ensuring they are well-equipped to excel in their roles.
  • Maintain security of sensitive assessment data.
  • Participate in preparation of institutional and programmatic accreditation.
  • Provide support to other members of the Academic Affairs team in pursuit of department and College goals.
  • Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues across the institution to facilitate collection of data related to program effectiveness.

What We Need From You:

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Must have:

  • Bachelors degree in education or a related degree.
  • Two or more years of experience in higher education.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Learning management systems
    • Microsoft Office Products
  • Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present in multiple formats.
  • Interprofessional, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Quality improvement procedures and methods.

Nice to have:

  • Two years of experience in assessment coordination, educational technology, or a related field
  • Proficiency in:
    • Canvas learning management system
