What You'll Do:

As Director of Curriculum and Instruction you’ll shape and improve our general education and core nursing courses. Here’s a preview of what that involves: 

 

  • Develop and Improve Curriculum
    • Facilitate the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of program curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
    • Conduct curriculum reviews and drive revisions with faculty subject matter experts.
    • Maintain and manage curriculum documents to comply with CCNE Accreditation Standard III.
  • Integrate Technology and Experiential Learning
    • Work closely with our Educational Technology Specialist to incorporate our state-of-the-art educational technology into our curriculum.
    • Partner with our Senior Experiential Education Specialist to blend experiential learning, including simulation, into our curriculum.
    • Champion and enhance our top-notch, evidence-based academic instruction.
  • Manage Course Resources and Drive Compliance with Standards
    • Update and assist in mapping content to standards and outcomes; keeping our content up-to-date and ensuring it aligns with standards like AACN BSN Essentials, ANA Professional Standards, NCLEX test plan.
    • Coordinate course resource reviews with faculty subject matter experts.
    • Oversee the selection, management, and distribution of course resources such as textbooks, learning objects, and ATI resources.
    • Oversee the work of the Course Manager (once filled).

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

Must Have:

  • A master’s degree in nursing from an institution accredited by the US Secretary of Education or CHEA or evidence of an equivalent degree.
  • Holds a current unencumbered registered nurse license in residence state.
  • Three to five years of progressive leadership experience in nursing education, inclusive of curriculum development and instruction,
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision and strategy into actions and results.
  • Skilled in initiating and building valued relationships externally with stakeholders and internally with cross-functional leaders .
  • Knowledge of quality improvement procedures.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Educational technology experience and knowledge.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Significant course work in Curriculum and Instruction or related field.
