What You'll Do:

The Student Achievement Coach is responsible for improving student outcomes through proactively contacting and providing academic support resources to a designated caseload of students. Their purpose is to positively impact academic achievement and retention goals for the BSN Program in alignment with College student affairs.

 

Essential responsibilities:

 

  • Student engagement and support.
    • Assist students, including those with academic challenges, to ensure coordinated access to academic support and community resources.
    • Provide prompt and friendly service to students, arrive on time, and maintain consistent attendance.
    • Regularly and proactively engage with students in assigned caseload through various communication methods (e.g., text, phone, email, face-to-face), ensuring documentation of all interactions.
    • Actively listen to students and direct them to appropriate community and College resources.
    • Assist in deescalating stressful situations for students.
    • Impact student success, monitor students' progress through the program, including grades and attendance.
    • Refer students to the Academic Support Coordinator for academic services and accommodations; collaborating with the Academic Support Coordinator to ensure students receive necessary support.
  • Documentation and metric evaluation
    • Document students’ reason for withdrawal from the program or excessive absences in compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Evaluate trends and effectiveness of activities.
    • Track outreach efforts and outcomes; meet or exceed benchmarks for communication outreach.
    • Partner with the College student affairs department to coordinate campus compliance with Title IX regulations, including accurately recording, and tracking all reports and investigations related to Title IX complaints.
  • Campus community development and activities
    • Plan, organize, and execute campus activities to develop campus community.
    • Promote and celebrate activities in a variety of communication channels.
    • Proctor student exams.

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in education.
  • Two or more years' experience in a metric-driven role.
  • Driven to engage students proactively.
  • Ability to craft clear, effective, and professional communications.
  •  

Nice to have:

  • Two or more years' experience in registrar, career services, student services, or related department from an educational institution.
  • Experience planning and executing mid to large-scale events.
